About Us
The Oak Ridge Chapter was chartered with 24 members on July 11, 1952, by the Chattanooga Chapter.
Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, IAAP is an international organization; and our mission is to affect increased productivity, career development, and quality of work within the office environment by providing opportunities for educational, personal, and professional growth.
IAAP represents members of many backgrounds and professions. Secretaries, executive assistants, information specialists, and office managers are just a few of the types of professionals that make up our association. Our mission is to be the acknowledged, recognized leader of administrative support professionals and enhance their individual collective value, image, competence, and influence.
The Chapter meeting is held at 5:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at Roane State Community College, 701 Briarcliff Avenue, City Room, Oak Ridge, TN. The meetings start with a program to further the professional and educational objectives of IAAP and are followed by a short business session.
The Oak Ridge Chapter Executive Board meets on the first Monday of each month. The Executive Board is comprised of the president, president-elect, vice president, secretary, treasurer, two board members, and advisor (immediate past president). The Executive Board meetings are open to the chapter membership. Committee chairmen are requested to present their proposed projects to the Board for approval.
